Georgian Aviation University

Georgia has big traditions in the aviation industry. Strong aviation is a prerequisite country’s strength and development. Exactly this circumstance became a fundamental reason for the foundation of aviation educational-scientific institute in 1992. This institute was developed in the structure of Georgian Technical University. In 2005, based on a governmental decision, aviation institute separated from Georgian Technical University and received accreditation from the ministry of education and sciences of Georgia. It became independent Georgian Aviation University. During these years our university has trained lots of pilots and aviation specialists. Most of them are employed in civil and military aviation sectors. Nowadays, the university has strong material-technical base, comfortable training laboratories, Telavi Airport, which is well equipped for flight training, airplanes Cessna 152, Piper Seneca, A-22, An-28, Boeing 737-200 and FNPT II MCC flight simulator, which is relevant to EASA standards. Georgian Aviation University is a partner organization under Erasmus Mundus project ACTIVE. According to this project, University’s students can participate in exchange programs with the Universities of European countries. Students from foreign countries also come to study here. It is very important, that graduates successfully work at various companies and most of them work on leading positions. They work in airports, air companies, military forces and at many other structures. University has experienced staff and professors. It is exactly their contribution, that our university has got accreditation from the ministry of education and science of Georgia that grants right to train aviation specialist of all levels:

  • Flight Exploitation of Aircraft (Commercial Pilot)
  • Technical exploitation of aircraft
  • Technical exploitation of aircraft avionics and electrical systems
  • Air Transport Management etc
